What they learn
In this stage, children pick up these strengths with their hands.
Graduate from blocks and write real code with variables, loops and lists.
Become a maker who controls electronics with code.
A “data lab” that measures the world and finds answers in data.
Train images to build their own smart machine.
Eight terms, deepening step by step
Each term ends in one finished project, and at the end children show what they made — in English.
From blocks to text
Starting text coding
Code art with loops and lists
Games and data
Python × electronics
Collecting & analyzing sensor data
Image-trained AI
An engineering-invention capstone
English at this stage
Abstract ideas (variable = 변수, and so on) are introduced in Korean first, then learned in English. From CD-2, presentations are practised in English only. Alongside their code, their English moves up to a “reading and writing” stage.
How we handle AI
AI does not write their code. Children train machine-learning models themselves, and AI is used only in a teacher-managed setting and only to “explain code I wrote.” They also learn password and account security, and that “a photo is really just a set of numbers.”
What they walk away with
A Python program they wrote themselves, a device built with Pico, a first AI machine, and an Invention Studio project.
